The Shark Brothers.

Engaging and interactive multi-media presentation leverages purposeful entertainment to inspire and educate.

For Immediate Release: January 07, 2013

Sean and Brooks Paxton aka the Shark Brothers will share their stories of adventure and exploration in the wild with students at the Out of Door Academy on January 11th, 2013 in an exciting educational presentation entitled “Wild by Nature”. Through their combined experience as adventurers, entertainers, educators and producers, the brothers are uniquely qualified personalities in the world of educational entertainment. They say, “It was our childhood fascination with adventure and wildlife that never went away and the years we spent traveling the world with our show business family that lead us to where we are today.”

Heading their company, Think Out Loud Productions, they fill multiple roles including cameramen, expedition leaders and science team members so they often find themselves directly involved in the stories they shoot and produce. The brother’s hands-on perspective punctuates this live show with an array of video footage and photos captured by them during collaborations on historically significant documentaries, science and research expeditions, and personal adventures. Over the years, Sean and Brooks have collaborated with distinguished individuals and organizations such as the Mote Center for Shark Research, Guy Harvey, the Guy Harvey Ocean Foundation, the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission and the Florida Aquarium. The Paxtons and their work has been featured on National Geographic, PBS, Discovery Channel, Shark Week, The Weather Channel and the NBC Nightly News, to name a few.

While the brothers are well known for innovative conservation work with sharks and the marine environment, they’re also involved in a host of other production projects featuring a variety of animals and habitats. This appearance will spotlight their volunteer work rescuing injured and orphaned wildlife for the Wildlife Center of Venice. Special guest, Pam DeFouw, from the Center’s rehabilitation staff, will be on hand to discuss the important role the center and its many volunteers play in the communities of Sarasota and West Charlotte counties.
